Programs & Initiatives

The ECP was developed based on the belief that once children gain a clear understanding of ecosystems, natural resources, and the interconnectedness of human actions and the environment, they become more likely to contribute positively to their communities and surroundings.
The Environmental Championship Program consists of intensive 5-day environmental awareness and sustainable living camps for selected children aged 9 to 12 from both public and private schools across Lebanon.
The program follows an experiential and holistic learning approach, combining hands-on, creative, and engaging activities that help children understand the interconnected cycle of life and the environment. Through these activities, participants learn that every human action has a direct or indirect impact on nature, communities, and personal wellbeing.
The ECP also brings together children from diverse social, religious, and cultural backgrounds, promoting cooperation, civic engagement, and shared environmental responsibility.
The main objectives of the ECP are to:
- Promote Environmental Awareness
- Empower Future Environmental Leaders
- Encourage Community Engagement and Tolerance
- Support Long-Term Environmental Action
Participants who successfully complete the program are recognized as “Environmental Champions”, inspiring them to continue advocating for sustainability and environmental protection in their communities.
The ECP is the result of a collaboration between the LMTA and EcoConsulting

The "Mountain Explorers" Interactive Journey
Developed in partnership with Swiss sustainability experts, Mountain Explorers is a pioneering pedagogical platform designed to safeguard Lebanon’s fragile highlands. Our mountains face a barrage of threats—from deforestation and illegal water pumping to the accelerating impacts of climate change—which disproportionately affect our most vulnerable rural communities. This program meets these challenges head-on by transforming complex environmental issues into an interactive virtual journey. Designed for children aged 8 to 12, the platform uses a transdisciplinary approach to teach the next generation how to navigate the delicate balance between human activity and ecosystem preservation.
Through a “virtual passport” system, students embark on an educational expedition across themed villages, earning stamps as they complete hands-on experiments and classroom games. The curriculum covers vital pillars of mountain life, including Biodiversity, Water Security, and Cultural Heritage, all while weaving in critical lessons on climate resilience.
By supporting Mountain Explorers, you are funding a high-tech, high-impact tool that is accessible in schools and at home. Your donation helps us scale this digital frontier, ensuring that every child in Lebanon has the map and the mindset needed to become a champion for our mountains.
Invest in the Digital Frontier of Conservation
Your support brings the mountains to the classroom and the classroom to the mountains. Help us finalize and deploy this essential tool to schools across Lebanon.
Empowering Lebanon’s Youth Through the Trail to Every Classroom
The Trail to Every Classroom (TTEC) program is a transformative educational initiative designed to turn the Lebanon Mountain Trail into a living laboratory for the next generation. By engaging students aged 8 to 17, TTEC moves beyond traditional rote learning to foster a deep-seated conservation ethic and environmental awareness. Through hands-on outdoor activities and non-formal education, we empower youth in schools and local associations to tackle global environmental challenges at a grassroots level. Your support allows us to provide educators with the specialized tools and training necessary to inspire students, ensuring that Lebanon’s natural heritage is not just a backdrop, but a vital part of their identity and future.
Central to this mission is our groundbreaking Water Awareness Teacher’s Guide (WAT), a comprehensive curriculum available in three languages and tailored for grades 3 through 10. In a region where water scarcity is a critical reality, this program is vital; it integrates essential lessons on water conservation and pollution prevention directly into the classroom and onto the trail. By funding TTEC, you are specifically helping us bridge the gap for under-resourced public schools, providing thousands of students with the opportunity to participate in life-changing excursions and environmental modules. Together, we can cultivate a generation of informed stewards committed to preserving Lebanon’s precious freshwater resources and natural landscapes.
Join the Movement to Protect Lebanon’s Heritage
Your contribution does more than just fund a program; it equips a child with the knowledge to protect our mountains and the resources to save our water. Every dollar ensures that a student in a public school gains access to the Trail to Every Classroom, turning a hike into a life-changing lesson in conservation.

Preserving Lebanon’s Heritage, One Village at a Time
The Heritage Education Program (HEP) is an innovative initiative designed to bring history to life for children and youth in Lebanon’s often-overlooked regions. Developed by a team of experienced archaeologists and educators, HEP bridges the gap between ancient history and modern identity through adaptable, hands-on workshops tailored to each local village. By triggering curiosity about the archaeological treasures right at their doorstep—from Phoenician script to traditional neighborhood architecture—we empower the next generation to see their surroundings through a lens of discovery and value.
Guided by project mascots, students embark on an adventurous journey through time that fosters a deep sense of belonging and cultural pride. This emotional attachment is the ultimate tool for preservation; when children understand the significance of their local heritage, they become its most passionate protectors.
Your support for the HEP program ensures that we can continue to reach remote communities, providing the tools and expert-led activities necessary to safeguard Lebanon’s rich history for generations to come.
